Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904 and each year, school children across the United States celebrate Read Across America Day to honor the beloved Dr. Seuss and to promote and encourage good reading habits.
To kick off Read Across America on March 2, Tamaques School students welcomed Wendy Mass, author of more than two dozen young adult novels and children books including Bob, The Candymakers, Pie in the Sky, A Mango-Shaped Space, and the Space Taxi series. Mass encouraged students to read and write often, while explaining the writing and publishing process and how a writer gets ideas. (Your experience. Your observations. Your imagination.)
